STEMosphere

STEMosphere is coming up this Saturday! We are excited to sponsor the event along with GVSU, and GE Aviation. We will be at the Grand Rapids Public Museum demonstrating our high school robots on the second floor and the middle school scrimmage will be on the third floor. The admission to the event is free but you have to register on the website and there is one day left.

Did I mention that there would be a scrimmage? Well, FTC will be competing with other team’s robots to learn the game play and advance their robots capability.

If you want to know anymore information about this event you can go to here.

A little about our team

Welcome to the Red Storm Robotics website! We are Team 3875, a FIRST® robotics team based in Kentwood, Michigan, made up of students attending East Kentwood High School. To learn more, please visit the “About Us” page, and be sure to explore everything else the site has to offer. If you have any feedback for us, website-related or otherwise, you can get a hold of us via the “Contact Us” page.
FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was established in 1989, with the competitive season initiating in 1992. FIRST uses robotics as a “varsity sport for the mind” to engage students in science and technology.

In December 2010, FIRST® of Michigan asked East Kentwood High School (EKHS) and GE Aviation Systems to establish a FIRST Robotics team. The Red Storm Robotics Team 3875 was formed in January 2011 at EKHS, and immediately began the 2011 FIRST Robotics build season. Within three months of operation, the team was given the Highest Rookie Seed award at the West Michigan competition. We have continued our success in the 2012-2022 seasons. Feel free to check out our awards page. Red Storm is currently looking forward to the 2022 competition season, and hosting the Kentwood district FRC competition at our school.

Kentwood’s elementary and middle schools are home to four FIRST® LEGO League (FLL) teams and four FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC) teams. Since 2012, the Red Storm Robotics team has hosted the middle school FTC Qualifier, Kentwood Qualifier in December, where over 32 middle school FTC teams compete.

To find out more about how we have done in the past please visit the “About Us” Page.
