Red Storm FRC at Worlds
For the first time ever, Red Storm Robotics FRC Team would go onto traveling to St. Louis to compete at the FIRST Robotics World Championship. We went onto competing in the Curie Division where we ranked 49th of 67 with a 3-7-0 record. We were selected to be a backup on the 5th Alliance, but unfortunately our alliance would be eliminated in the quarterfinals.
Our autonomous would be the best in the Curie Division, never missing the gear. While attending world’s the drive/programming team almost got our side autonomous to work which was a challenge for the team throughout the season. This functionality will be quite useful in our off-season competitions, Grand Rapids Girls and West Michigan Robotics Invitational. Our climber continued to show consistency during the matches which was reflected by the robot climbing in every match but two. We also were able to get all four rotors spinning in all matches but three. After the first day, we came to conclusion the team had the highest score for gears, climbing and autonomous but then would go down to fifth by the end of the second day.
