The 2010-2011 was an exciting time for us because it marked the start of our team. It was very hectic beacuse we weren’t sure how to get started. However, we pulled through and managed to qualify for state. Although we were very busy, we learned a lot and had fun! We made friends in each other and bonded outside of practice. Competitions brought us together because we wanted to acheive success. It was an amazing experience for all of us.
The basic premise of that year’s game, “LogoMotion”, was to put inflatable tubes on a rack to score points. The first 15 seconds were autonomous, and involved putting yellow “UberTubes” on the rack. The majority of the game consisted of putting triange, circle, and square tubes representing the FIRST logo on the rack. Finally, with 10 seconds to go, the robots released their Minibots; small autonomous robots that raced to the top of poles for a point bonus! The 3-team Alliance with the most points won.
